Automation in ModularMind empowers users to create sophisticated AI assistants that can work tirelessly on their behalf. By combining Autoruns, Notifications, and Logic, users can set up complex workflows that operate autonomously, saving time and increasing productivity.

Autoruns

Autoruns allow users to schedule stacks or chains to run automatically at regular intervals.

Usage

  1. Select the stack or chain you want to automate.
  2. Click the Autorun button in the selection menu.

  1. Enter a descriptive name for the autorun, Set the frequency and pick a starting date and time.

Then, ModularMind will trigger the run automatically as instructed. You can view and manage your autoruns by clicking the autoruns menu button in the top right corner of the board.

Here, you can pause or delete existing autoruns.

Currently, autoruns are triggered on the user’s browser, and the app needs to remain open for autoruns to function.

Notifications

Notifications allow users to be alerted when specific conditions are met or when a run is completed.

Usage

To use the notifications, you simply add instructions to your prompt, such as “Notify me when the result is ready” or “Notify me if a new post is shared today”. ModularMind will send a notification based on the specified conditions.

Notifications help you to set up autoruns that work in the background, only alerting you when attention is needed. This way, you can focus on other tasks without worrying about missing important updates.

You can view notification details from the menu in the top right corner of the board.

Logic

ModularMind has built-in intelligent logic that can automatically stop the execution of a chain based on a condition specified by the user. This feature is useful when you want to stop a chain if a certain condition is met.

Usage

Similar to notifications, you can add instructions to your prompt to stop the chain if a specific condition is met. For example, you can add a prompt that says “Stop the chain if the stock price drops below $100”. When the output is ready, ModularMind will automatically evaluate the condition and stop processing the remaining stacks in the chain if the condition is met. This feature helps prevent unnecessary operations and saves processing time.

Automation in ModularMind

By combining Autoruns, Notifications, and Logic, you can create powerful, autonomous AI assistants that can operate independently, saving time and increasing productivity. Automation in ModularMind is a game-changer that enables users to focus on high-value tasks while their AI assistants handle repetitive, time-consuming operations.

Imagine combining these features for a powerful automated workflow:

  1. Set up an autorun to check for new industry news every morning at 10 AM
  2. Using web browsing, instruct ModularMind to visit and analyze multiple news sources
  3. Add auto-stop instruction to terminate the chain if no news is found for the day
  4. Add a Notification instruction to alert you only when news about a specific topic is detected

This combination of these automation features allows you to create an AI assistant that monitors your industry, filters out noise, and only alerts you when human attention is required. By leveraging ModularMind’s automation capabilities, you can build powerful, automated AI assistants to handle your daily work efficiently and effectively.
